Roughness and Fiber Fraction Dominated Wetting of Electrospun Fiber-Based Porous Meshes 2021-03-24

The surface chemistry was analyzed with X-ray photoelectron microscopy (XPS). The analysis showed that the mesh can maintain the residual air between the fibers, thereby reducing the surface free energy of the polymer, thereby increasing the contact of liquids with a surface tension higher than the critical Wenzel level Corners so that the hydrophobic surface remains in the Cassie-Baxter state.

Ecofriendly Electrospun Membranes Loaded with Visible-Light Responding Nanoparticles for Multifunctional Usages: Highly Efficient Air Filtration, Dye Scavenging, and Bactericidal Activity 2021-03-24

The polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and konjac glucomannan (KGM)-based nanofiber membranes were prepared by green electrospinning and environmentally friendly thermal crosslinking, and loaded with ZnO nanoparticles. The fiber membrane thus obtained not only shows high-efficiency air filtration performance, but also shows excellent photocatalytic activity and antibacterial activity.

Layer by layer nanocomposite filter for ABC filtration 2021-03-24

The developed nano composite air filter has a filtration efficiency of 99% for bacteria and PM2.5, and a detoxification efficiency for 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide (2-CEES) of 95%. The obtained results show that the developed layer-by-layer nanocomposite filter material has potential applications in resisting ABC removal.
